Time to submit for Palette Competition
The Laguna Beach Arts Commission is accepting applications for the
2002 Palette Competition.
The annual competition was initiated in 1966 by Earl Secor. This
year a $300 award will be given to each artist whose design is
selected.
Entries will be accepted from Laguna Beach residents, artists with
a studio in Laguna or showing in a Laguna gallery, students of Laguna
Beach schools or the Laguna College of Art and Design or artists
exhibiting at the Sawdust Festival, Art-a-Fair or Festival of Arts.
Artists are asked to submit a palette design on 8 1/2-by-11-inch
paper. The design must have a horizontal orientation. Include the
palette indent. If the design is selected the artist might be
required to reverse the indent of the design. Artists may submit two
designs.
There are no restrictions on the subject matter; however, symbols
are discouraged.
The deadline for submissions is Oct. 11.
