Come to us for surf
We apparently have a direct line to the Surf Gods.
We pray for surf in print, as anyone who has ever picked up a
surfboard can tell you, just about the biggest “no-no†there is.
Almost always it is followed by months, if not years, of lake-like
conditions for miles.
But this time it came.
And came in epic proportions.
The Wedge approaching 20 feet. Newport Point doing its Pipeline
impersonation. West Newport firing. Consistent, consistent sets. And
the water still warm enough to trunk it, if you’re a real surfer, or
for a spring suit, if you aren’t.
Maybe it had something to do with finally catching Wedge legend
Mel Thoman on celluloid after all these years. Whatever we did, it
worked.
So, we’re going to roll the dice, again.
Bring more surf. Bring more surf.
