Lola Rouge is the hottest store to hit the subdued 17th Street

Promenade in Costa Mesa. It opened in early August. Trend followers

are pleased at how well sisters Sandy Johnson and Debbie Askew choose

their store’s chic merchandise. Inside you’ll find the same scarves

and necklaces that Nicole Kidman wears and handbags that Sarah

Jessica Parker gave as gifts to cast members of “Sex in the City.â€

Its biggest seller so far are the Louis Vinton and Gucci logo -Dr.

Scholl sandals at $175.

“We’ve sold out twice during our first two weeks,†Johnson said.

“And we’re on our third order.â€

The store has high-end and affordable designer clothing, tons of

jewelry, belts, candles, and bath, body and fragrance lines.

Hard-to-find French perfumes from Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier that’s

hand-poured and Oh My Dog French cologne and shampoo are some of the

unique items sold here.

“We carry lower and high-end merchandise,†Johnson said. “We

wanted to make sure everybody could shop here. And we have hard to
