Girls water polo: Tars JV remains undefeated

The Newport Harbor High junior varsity girls water polo team

continued its undefeated season with a dominating performance that led to

a San Clemente Tournament title Saturday.

The Sailors won three games in the tourney, outscoring opponents a

combined 43-7, including a 15-2 victory over Mission Viejo in the final.

Carolyn Conway led with the way with seven goals in the title game, while

goalie Terin Cottam recorded eight saves to anchor the defense.

Newport defeated Dana Hills, 17-2, in the first round, and San

Clemente, 11-3, in the second round.

Conway scored 18 goals in the three wins, while Alex Anderson amassed

six.
