The Huntington Beach Playhouse will present “A Chorus Line†through

Feb. 3. Shows will be at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday; 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Saturday; and 2 and 7 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $14 to $17 general and $7

MONDAY

The Tumble-N-Kids program is offering gymnastics classes for children

ages 10 months to 12 years starting Jan. 28th. Classes run for eight

weeks. Three new classes have been added: Teeny Tumblers, Tumble-N-Yoga

The Friends of the Children’s Library is holding a reception for

children’s authors and illustrators participating in the 12th annual

Authors Festival of the Huntington Beach Library. The event will take

Auditions will be held for Golden West College Mainstage Theater

production of “Oedipus Rex.†Roles are available for men and women of all

The Sierra Club’s Orange County Sierra Singles holds a fast-paced

FEB. 2

The Huntington Beach Art Center will host an exhibition titled,

“Centered on the Center, 2002†Feb. 2-24. The show includes more than 200

regional artists in a salon-style exhibition. There will be a reception

The Knights of Columbus (Pope John Paul I Council) is sponsoring a

Optimum Boot Camp, a fitness class on the beach, is offering 47

classes a week. Morning classes are at 5:30 a.m., 6:45 a.m., 8 a.m. 9:15

a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Evening classes are at 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7:30

p.m. There is a shortened schedule on weekends. Classes include a

military-style obstacle course, cardiovascular endurance, fat burning and

The Huntington Beach Concert Band is an all-volunteer community

organization with approximately 70 members, led by music director Tom

Ridley. Founded in February 1973, the band plays a wide variety of

musical styles -- from classical, to Broadway, to contemporary. They

perform frequently at events and locations throughout Southern

California, including Disneyland, Leisure World, Huntington Beach Pier

Plaza, and Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. The Huntington Beach Concert

Band is open to all interested musicians age 18 and over. Rehearsals are
