Audit committee seeks members
The Newport-Mesa Unified School District is accepting applications for
vacancies on its 14-member Audit Committee. Members’ duties include close
interaction with district auditors throughout the annual auditing
process, participation in preparing the audit report to the school board
and evaluating the effectiveness of the audit process.
The committee meets on the third Monday of every month for a minimum
of six meetings a year.
There are four vacancies on the committee. Applicants must live in one
of the following areas: Corona del Mar attendance zone that includes
Eastbluff, Harbor View, Lincoln, Newport Coast and Corona del Mar High
School; the Costa Mesa attendance zone that covers College Park, Davis,
Killybrooke, Paularino, Sonora and Costa Mesa High; the Estancia zone
that includes Adams, California, Pomona, Rea, Victoria, Wilson, TeWinkle
and Estancia High School; the Newport Harbor area that includes Woodland,
Kaiser, Mariners, Newport Elementary, Newport Heights, Whittier, Ensign
and Newport Harbor High School.
Applicants don’t need to have children in the school district. Those
interested may submit a letter to Michael Fine, assistant superintendent
of business services, 2985 Bear St., Costa Mesa, CA 92628.
Applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. Feb. 5.
