Pistons hit on all cylinders in two wins

Seven different players scored and the Pistons doubled up on Team SIX,

taking a 44-22 decision in boys’ National Junior Basketball Division 2

action.

Andrew Davis led the Pistons’ attack with 15 points and Scott Marcin

also hit double figures with 10 points. Sammy Captan, Kevin Strickler,

Wesley Davis and Rickey Vasquez also contributed key baskets.

The Pistons also defeated the Chargers, 35-25, in other division play

to improve to 6-0 overall. Andrew Davis led the way with nine points and

Captan, Davis and Matt Weaver each contributed six points.

ALL-NET DIVISION

South HB 50, Long Beach 45

The Chargers overcame a one-point deficit through three quarters by

outscoring Long Beach, 12-6, in the fourth quarter of play.

Taylor King topped South Huntington Beach with 30 points and T.J.

Lipold notched 14.

South HB 74, Whittier 26

T.J. Lipold went 5 of 6 from three-point range and finished with 20

points as the Chargers routed Whittier at Edison High. Casey Becker

finished with 19 points, Taylor King scored 12, Thomas Marcin had 11,

Mike Hardwick eight points and Tim Golden completed the scoring with five

points as the Chargers, who hit nine, three-point shots overall, improved

to 5-0.

GIRLS’ NJB

Division 1

South HB 38, North HB 8

The Chargers ran their record to 6-0 on the season with the easy win

at Marina High. Elyse Van Leer scored eight points, Wahine Kepilino had

seven and Lauren Kaprielian scored six.

Division 2

South HB Chargers 35, West HB 15

The Chargers earned their first win of the season in convincing

fashion as Leslie de Jesus scored 10 points and Jordi Booher and Kirstin

Linder each scored six points.
