Kaos wins Hi-5 division title

Kaos, a boys’ Under-10 Division Gold All-Star soccer team out of AYSO
region 117 (Huntington Beach), won its division championship at the Hi-5
Tournament held in Fountain Valley.
Kaos swept four tournament matches and outscored the opposition, 11-4.
The title game against Quartz Hills ended in a sudden death overtime,
where Alec Pinto scored off a header on a crossing pass from Mitchel
Alvarez.
Several other team members gave strong performances for Kaos, which
will participate later this month in the Pony Express Tournament in
Corona, including Jordan Beasley, Harry Dobrott, Michael Franzoy, Michael
Pellegrino, Cameron Pirtle, Conor Reynolds, George Riat, Kyle Smythe,
Danny Thibodeaux and Bret Woodley.

Big Red Gets One win Area-K play
Big Red, a girls’ Under-14 Division team out of Region 55, opened Area
K Tournament play with a 3-2 victory over Region 56. They then suffered a
6-1 defeat at the hands of a strong Region 517 team.
Down 2-1 against Region 56, Ashley Glassburner scored her first goal
of the season to bring Big Red into a tie and later in the third period,
Jennifer Pacheco, who opened the scoring for Big Red, provided her team
with the game-winning goal on a give-and-go pass from Andrea Luis.
Big Red, which won the regular season championship in Region 55
division play, had no such luck against Region 517 as Berlin Vo scored
early in the second half to account for the lone goal in a 6-1 loss.
Next came consecutive losses to Region 5, 4-2, and Region 117, 8-0.
Pacheco and Andrea Luis scored goals in the Region 5 loss.
Big Red also consists of Michelle Boydston, Lauren Butler, Noralee
Caruso, Brittany Evans, Kayla Glassburner, Brittany Hovden, Rachel
Lucian, Ashley Morem, Carolyn Russell and Coach John Boydston.
