Newport Beach firm to design senior community
A Newport Beach architectural and planning firm will design a new
senior center and apartments in Fountain Valley.
JBZ Architecture & Planning will provide architectural design services
for the new Fountain Valley Senior Center and Fountain Valley Senior
Apartments.
Both are being developed on an 11.5-acre site at the corner of Bushard
Street and Talbert Avenue.
Irvine-based KD Housing Partners is developing the recreation center
and apartment community on behalf of the Fountain Valley School District,
which owns the property.
John Laing Homes of Newport Beach is developing the single-family
attached portion of the project.
The 17,000-square-foot senior center will be built on 2.9 acres on the
site of a former elementary school. It will be open to the public and
offer banquet facilities, physical exercise equipment and activities, and
interior spaces designed to promote socializing.
JBZ will design a 150-unit, two- and three-story apartment complex.
Construction on both the apartments and senior center is scheduled to
begin in June and is expected to take about a year.
