Girls soccer: Mesa dominates Eagles
Costa Mesa High had a strong first half en route to a 6-1 victory
over host Estancia in a Pacific Coast League girls soccer game Tuesday.
Sharon Day, Nichelle Janti, Stacy Krikorian, Natalie Masciale, Sarah
Ronquillo and Jenny Sparks scored goals for the Mustangs (9-4-1, 2-1 in
the PCL).
Kaitlyn Gentling made one save in the first half and Chelsea Soria
made one in the second half. Costa Mesa took a 5-0 lead at halftime.
Estancia’s goal was scored by Maria Sanchez. The Eagles fall to 3-12,
0-3.
Costa Mesa, ranked No. 10 in CIF Southern Section Division IV, visits
No. 2-ranked Corona del Mar, also No. 6 in Orange County, for a PCL
crucial Thursday.
