Little Tigers roar past the Rocket Power, 4-0
Behind the play of goalie Shayne Nelson and a stingy defense, the
Little Tigers recorded a 4-0 Adams Division weekend victory over the
Rocket Power at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.
Nelson had 17 saves as the Little Tigers maintained a first-place tie
with the Raptors, who beat the Ice Pups, 3-0.
Both teams are 4-0-1.
Scoring wise, Keith Fronk had two goals and an assist, Kyle Hayashida
and Jason Callanan each scored once, and Jason Lustig had an assist.
IN OTHER GAMES:
* Raptors 3, Ice Pups 0
Josh Duchon scored all three goals and goalie Cody Brothers had 20
assists to lead the Raptors (4-0-1).
Goalie Andrew Livezey also finished with 20 saves for the Ice Pups,
who fell to 1-3-1.
* Sharks 6, Bulldogs 0
In the division’s third shutout of the weekend, goalie Travis Beckman
stopped 16 shot attempts, Garrick Langer scored the game’s first four
goals, then Joshua Ane added the final two as the Sharks improved to
3-1-1.
The loss left the Bulldogs with a 1-3-1 mark.
* Fire 5, Gromets 3
A four goal second period carried the Fire (2-3) past the Gromets
(0-4-1) as Michael Feirstein scored three goals and Tyler O’Donnell
scored one. Austin Locke opened the scoring for the Fire with a first
period goal. Locke and Ricky Meyer each had an assist, and goalie Taylor
Song had 17 saves.
Jacob Sabraw scored twice, Joseph Delp had a goal and assist, Nicholas
Kadletz had an assist, and goalie Blake Miller stopped 18 shot attempts for the Gromets.
