Lazer Blades strengthen grip, 5-3
The Lazer Blades furthered themselves from the rest of the Campbell
Division pack last weekend by defeating the Slapshots, 5-3, in action at
Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.
Connor Cal Lathrope scored twice, and Cole Thormodsgaard and Jake
Robinson each finished with a goal and three assists as the first-place
Lazer Blades opened a two-game lead on the rest of the division’s teams.
Shaun Dolan scored once, Bradley Salisbury had an assist, and goalie
Janien Barber had 18 assists for the victors.
For the Slapshots, who fell into a three-way tie for second place at
3-2, Travis Beckman scored once with two assists, and Zachary Malloy
scored once with an assist.
Menehunes 6, Panthers 1
Chase Parks netted three goals and added an assist, Marcus Kurth
scored once and had two assists, Chase Parks and Taylor Yamaoka each
scored once with an assist, Grant Murchison scored once, Cody Ferrer had
a pair of assists, Nathan Ferrer had an assist, and goalie Justin
Pederson had six saves to power the Menehunes (3-2).
Warriors 2, Hurricanes 1
Goals by David Abady (set up by a Luis Concepcion assist) and Jacob
Trani, and a division-best 32 saves by goalie Sean Wing, lifted the
Warriors (2-3) past the Hurricanes (3-2).
Dimitri Cousoyannopoulos scored unassisted, and goalie Sean O’Connell
had 14 saves for the Hurricanes.
Razors 3, Blackhawks 3
Blake Miller’s third-period goal -- his first of the match -- lifted
the Razors (2-2-1) into a tie with the Blackhawks (1-3-1). Miller also
finished with a pair of assists, Zane Weber scored twice and added an
assist, and goalie Garrett Haar had 14 saves.
For the Blackhawks, Erik Jervik scored twice, Nicholas Keizer scored
once, Caitlin Apostol and Connor Culhane each had an assist, and goalie
Brian Kinder recorded 20 saves.
