Nelson offers professional instruction
What was one common threat woven through the lineup of Ocean View
Little League’s Majors Division All-Star team?
Darren Nelson.
The former college All-American runs Sluggers Indoor Professional
Baseball Instruction in Huntington Beach. Nelson, who also has four years
of professional baseball experience, offers instruction from the
professional level, to Division I college ball, all the way down to
T-ball.
The site includes new equipment, excellent lighting, and a baseball
pro shop - all in a professional atmosphere.
“I have been giving lessons in the Orange County area for four years,â€
Nelson said. “I give thorough instruction to all who enroll.â€
Nelson said that he has instructed nine of the 12 players on Ocean
View’s 2000 Majors Division All-Star team, which reached the Little
League Western Region championship game last week.
Among the campers from Ocean View who have received private lessons
are Hank Conger, who set a new Ocean View single-season record with 33
home runs this year, and Dallas Walters. In addition, Lucas Aumiller, a
member of the Independent’s 2000 Little League Dream Team, also worked
with Nelson.
“The Ocean View players had a phenomenal season, and I’ve very excited
for their success,†said Nelson, who has references from all levels of
baseball. “They really hit the ball well during the playoffs, and their
hard work in practice really showed.â€
Nelson’s Sluggers Indoor Professional Baseball Instruction is located
at 18101 Redondo Circle (#P) in Huntington Beach. He can be reached at
