COSTA MESA
* Pinecreek Drive: Someone stole $713 worth of clean laundry from a
laundry facility in the 2800 block between 4 and 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
* Bristol Street: A pair of thieves stole $1,350 worth of golf shirts
from The Clubhouse Restaurant gift shop in the 3000 block at 5:15 p.m.
Aug. 13.
* Bristol Street: An Australian woman in town for a wedding was having
breakfast with relatives at the Countryside Inn in the 300 block at 9:30
a.m. Aug. 12 when her black purse was stolen. Inside the bag was $18,330
worth of cash, jewelry and passports.
* South Coast Drive: Someone broke into a car in the 900 block between
1:30 and 10:30 p.m. Aug. 16 and stole $600 worth of items, including
clothing and compact discs.
NEWPORT BEACH
* Quedada: A locked screen door saved the day when it stopped a
would-be burglar’s attempt to break into a home in the 2900 block at 1
a.m. Monday. However, the screen was slashed.
* Balboa Boulevard: Someone stole $45 from an unlocked car in the 1400
block between 2:15 and 5 p.m. Saturday.
* Via Lido: A music lover found that someone had broken into her car
in the 3400 block at 1 a.m. Sunday and stolen CDs worth $770.
* Ford Road: Someone broke into a construction site in the 1600 block
during the weekend and stole $3,000 worth of water pumps, hoses and
concrete tools.
