o7 We asked children at a park in Newport Beach how they felt about

going back to school:f7

It’s going to be fun. I’m not scared. Right now, I’m in

pre-kindergarten. Today I wrote numbers and pasted pictures. I like the

kids I get to hang out with.

MAX THORNELL, 5, kindergarten

Newport Beach

I like to play with the toys. They also have a playhouse. I also get

to paint and draw. I go five hours a day. I start in three weeks.

ALEXANDRIA CRIDER, 4, preschool

Newport Beach

It’s going to be fun. There will be coloring. I’m excited. I’ll go for

three hours a day.

LYDIA SMITH, 5, kindergarten

Costa Mesa

I’m excited. I’ll probably learn to read and write, and paint and

play. I know some people who will be in my class. It’s going to be fun.

COURTNEY SAYLER, 4, kindergarten

Costa Mesa

I’m looking forward to meeting a lot of new people. Getting to know my

teachers. Try to find my career. I’m happy to start high school, but I

might be a bit scared the first day or so because it’s such a big place.

MICHAEL GOZUKARA, 14, freshman
