POLICE FILES - Aug. 15, 2000
NEWPORT BEACH

meant trespassing at Beacon Bay Auto Wash in the 150 block at 6:30 p.m.
Thursday and marking a wall with graffiti. Damage was estimated at $100.
* Balboa Fun Zone: A woman who left her black leather shoulder bag
unattended in a public restroom for about 15 minutes Saturday shouldn’t
have been surprised when she discovered it missing. The bag and its
contents were valued at $167.
* Via Oporto: A female customer at The Buzz, a restaurant and bar in
the 3400 block, had such a good time Saturday night that she left her
$200 cellular phone behind on the table. Now that’s a tip!
* West Balboa Boulevard: One very macho person trying to impress
others threw a chair through a sliding glass door in the 1800 block
around 3 a.m. Thursday. Damages were $300.
COSTA MESA
* Napoli Way: Not wanting to be the only person in Orange County
without a cellular phone, someone broke into a vehicle in the 2000 block
between 8 a.m. Aug. 8 and 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and stole a $100 phone
from the glove box.
