Entry forms are available to run or walk in the Komen Orange County

Race for the Cure, to be held Sept. 24.

The 5K run/walk is expected to draw 30,000 runners and walkers and

5,000 spectators. Preregistration is $25 for adults. Adults must pay $28

after Sept. 16 and $30 on race day. The fee for youths, seniors and

breast cancer survivors is $15 preregistration and $20 after Sept. 16.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Orange County affiliate of the

Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Participants will receive a T-shirt. The winner of the Elite Women’s

5K category gets a $5,000 prize. There will be awards in all age groups,

for teams and for pledges.

The race will begin at Fashion Island, Newport Beach. Registration

begins at 6:30 a.m. Race times are 7:35, 7:40 and 9:35 a.m. A fitness

expo will be held from 6:30 a.m. to noon.
