AYSO Region 120: Arsenal blank Public Enemy
COSTA MESA - Jess Hellmich and Jaime Salas each scored two goals to
lead the Arsenal, a boys under-14 soccer team to a 6-0 win over the
Public Enemy in the AYSO Region 120 championships.
Eric Scheafer and Junior Simental each added a goal for the Arsenal,
who had lost to Public Enemy, 3-1, in a previous contest.
Nikoli Carroll, Ryan Sanford, Chris Cifuentes and Jim Tallman
controlled the game on both sides of the ball, while Chris Ray, Brett
Molaskey, Sam Wall and Scott Markley also turned in solid all-around
play.
In boys under-12 action:
Blizzard 3, Orange Crush 2 - Luis Andrade and Caleb Burgess each
scored goals for the Blizzard, while Brian Henriquez and Jose Perez each
scored for the Orange Crush.
Crush’s goalie Kyle Thorsness made several saves, but finally, in
seven sudden death overtimes, Adrian Jimenez scored the game-winner for
the Blizzard.
Solid team play by the Blizzard was turned in by Rory Folsom, Ryan
Pfautz, Garrett Marshall, Edgar Mendoza, Luis Cozza, Ramen Contreras,
Mike Mantyla, Josh Knauer, Nick Juarez, Eric Seagondollar, Nick Urbaniec
and German Higadera.
In boys under-8 action:
For the Rockets, in their matchup with the Green Jets, Matt Viles
scored a goal while Alex Allione, Angel Beas, Justin Crosson, Jonathan
Knauer, Aaron King, Ben Nordstrom, Andrew Roth and Preston Schow
contributed on both sides of the field.
In girls under-8 action:
For the Pink Panthers, in their game against the Blue Dolphins,
Brittany Grimmett scored two goals, while Michaela Watson and Makenna
Sanislo each added single goals.
The Panthers’ defense was led by Amanda Watson, Avery Ingram, Jenna
Hurty, Annie Daw, Morgan Pautsch and Natalie Seckel.
