NHB Black continues to dominate
The North Huntington Beach Black boys Under-10 soccer team
continued its dominating league play with a dominating defensive
performance Saturday in a 4-1 victory over the West Covina Express at the
Whittier Soccer Complex.
By limiting West Covina to just one shot on goal in each half, NHB
was able to maintain its 4-1 halftime lead throughout the remainder of
the contest.
Christian Ramirez put NHB Black on the scoreboard first, scoring
off an assist from Ryan Lehane just one minute into the match. Esteban
Orejel followed Ramirez with a goal five minutes later before Ramirez
added his second score at the 12-minute mark.
Bobby Tornel scored off a rebound shot to put NHB Black on top,
4-0.
The second half turned into a defensive struggle, although NHB
out-shot the Express, 9-1.
NHB Black, now 8-0 in league play and 16-2 overall, hosts the
Nitemares of Chino Hills Saturday at Estancia High in Costa Mesa.

BRIGADE 3, CERRITOS 2
The Brigade boys Under-13 team opened the second half of league
play on a positive note by edging the Cerritos Panthers. JP Smith and
Kareem Khalil paced the offensive attack for Brigade, which ran its
league win streak to eight wins. Brigade is 8-0 with six games remaining.

Boys Under-12 Division
Extreme 6, Poison 2
The sharp shooting of Curtis Taniguchi led an explosive comeback
by Extreme, which overcame a 2-0 deficit. Joe McGarry scored both goals
for Poison.
