Employees at Sound Matrix say they are still shaken after two gunmen held

them hostage at the Fountain Valley business for an hour Friday morning.

The suspects, described as males in their mid-20s, left the business at

11125 Condor Ave., in a new silver Cadillac Cetera with paper plates,

said Police Lt. Dan Bean.

The owner said he was giving the men a tour of the recording studio, when

he found himself duct-taped and held at gunpoint as the suspects stole

$40,000 in recording equipment.

The gunmen left silently, he said, and eventually a band member who was

recording there found the employees and called the police.

Woman assaulted

A 17-year-old woman was assaulted by a man in the 17200 block of Oak

Street in Fountain Valley at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 11, said Police Sgt. Jim

Perry.

The woman was walking home from a local store when a white adult male,

about 27 to 35 years old, with dirty blond hair and a pock-marked face,

confronted her, Perry said. He was wearing a brown shirt and dark-colored

shorts.

The suspect pushed the woman to the ground, climbed on top of her and

pinned her shoulders to the ground. As the victim struggled with the

suspect, he tried to remove her halter top and used his hands to assault

her. The woman screamed for help, at which point the suspect ran away.

The victim suffered a bloody nose and a scrape on her hand.
