COSTA MESA -- A man posing as a doctor was arrested for allegedly
molesting a 7-year-old boy and sexually assaulting his mother, police
said.
Juan Arnulfo Asuturias, 45, of Lynwood, was arrested Thursday and is
being held on $50,000 bail.
On Aug. 10, Asturias met the victim’s mother and told her he was a
doctor, which he is not, police said.
She told him that her son was suffering from a rash, and Asturias offered
to make a house call to examine him, according to police.
At 8 p.m. on Aug. 13, Asturias came to the Costa Mesa house and took the
boy into a room to examine him, police said.
Then, according to police, Asturias came out of the room and assaulted
the child’s mother and then left the home.
The mother called police the next day and reported the incident.
Costa Mesa police urge anyone else who has been assaulted by a man
claiming to be a doctor to call them at 714-754-5600.
