BRIEFS
The Junior League of Orange County was honored earlier this month by
Pavillon Christofle and the Underground Wine Journal for its service in
the area.
Pavillon manager James Hamilton and Blair Wallace, the journal’s
publisher, presented the organization with an engraved silver vase at a
wine tasting held at the at Pavillon Christofle’s South Coast Plaza
store. About one-third of the group’s members attended the event.
The wine was provided by Castle Rock Winery of Palos Verdes, and Newport
Beach’s What’s Cooking donated the hor d’oeuvres.
What’s Cooking, Pavillon Christofle and the Underground Wine Journal are
all sponsoring the league’s preferred Shopping Breakfast this year. The
breakfast is scheduled for Oct. 17 at the Fairgrounds.
The Junior League is an organization of women committed to voluntarism
and to assisting other women. The group formed in 1956 as the Newport
Harbor Service League. It joined the Assn. of Junior Leagues in 1971.
