Water polo: USA still perfect at Unicum Cup

BUDAPEST, Hungary - The United States men’s national water polo
team remained undefeated in the Unicum International Water Polo
Tournament, coming from behind to defeat Slovakia, 9-7, Friday.
Chris Humbert scored three goals, while Wolf Wigo and Chi Kredell each
added two goals each for the Americans, who overcame a 5-3 halftime
deficit to win.
Friday’s win, combined with Thursday’s 9-5 win over Germany, gives the
Americans a perfect 3-0 record and will take on Hungary today.
The hosts are also 3-0, outscoring their opponents, 42-11.
Gavin Arroyo scored three goals to lead the Americans in their win over
Germany.
Orange Coast College water polo and swimming coach Chris Oeding added a
first-period goal for the Americans on Thursday.
In the opening match, USA pulled out a dramatic 6-5 win over the reigning
world and Olympic champion Spanish team.
