Hyundai interns recognized for achievements

FOUNTAIN VALLEY -- State and local politicians, includingstate Sen.
Joe Dunn from Santa Ana and county supervisor Todd Spitzer, will honor 43
summer interns at a luncheon Friday at Hyundai Motor America
headquarters.
The paid interns will receive Congressional Certificates of Achievement
for creating and implementing community projects, including a school
violence prevention symposium, a soccer camp for underprivileged
children, a calendar benefiting Latino Health Access and a low-cost
driving school.
Hyundai’s three-month internship program is designed to teach community
and international business leadership skills to high school and college
students, said Julia Karpman, the company’s spokeswoman.
Six local interns include Huntington Beach residents Kristin Darnell and
Heather Gordon; and Fountain Valley residents Chris Fusillo, Benita
Mandalia, Hemanshu Mandalia, and Neel Shah.
