Man jumps to death from ninth floor

A 60-year-old man leapt to his death from the ninth floor of an apartment building in Costa Mesa on Thursday morning, Costa Mesa police said.

The Orange County Coroner’s office identified the man as Timothy Mulvany, of Fontana.

Police said it was a suicide jump from the Bethel Towers complex, at 678 W. 19th St.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by police at 11:32 a.m. Thursday.

Mulvany landed in the parking lot, according to the coroner’s release.
