Wheelchair rugby rolls into OCC

Local rugby enthusiasts are in for a treat Saturday with a wheelchair rugby exhibition.

Orange Coast College is hosting the eighth annual Bill Alvarez Memorial Wheelchair Rugby Exhibition to raise money for the school’s disabled students.

Alvarez, who died seven years ago, for 14 years served as the High Tech Center coordinator.

The doors open at 10:30 a.m. with games beginning at 11 a.m. in OCC’s Peterson Gymnasium, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa. There is a suggested donation of $5 and parking is free.
