Pet of the Week
It was March 10 when many of you first read about the kitten Brady being born without eyelids (eyelid agenesis), and his lashes turning inward and rubbing on his corneas.
His first surgery was performed at the end of April and the Community Animal Network has noticed that Brady is squinting again. His recent exam found two lashes had re-grown.
The network needs to raise $350 for his second procedure that would stop the remaining lashes from causing him discomfort, which could lead to blindness if not corrected.
“Eye Care For Animals†in Tustin is the only hospital in the county that can perform the procedure. We have received a “rescue discount†for the procedure, which would use a tiny probe to freeze the lashes under a general anesthetic.
Readers might be surprised to learn that Brady is still available for adoption after all these months. However, many rescue groups are reporting that adoption numbers are down.
People losing their homes and jobs are forced to move in with relatives, and most often they will not welcome their pets. The network could help save more lives if you would consider becoming a foster parent to a local animal in need.
Brady is an amazing cat! He loves to snuggle! Call (949) 759-3646, or come visit us this weekend at our Fashion Island pet adoption events (noon to 4 p.m.) that are sponsored by Russo’s Pet Experience.
