Small fire burns brush in Talbert Regional Park
Costa Mesa firefighters quickly doused a small brush fire in the northern portion of Talbert Regional Park on Monday afternoon, according to authorities.
The flames started in a homeless encampment around 4:40 p.m., fire Capt. Chris Coates said.
Fire crews, with help from a Huntington Beach water-dropping helicopter, controlled the blaze within a half-hour, Coates said.
The flames burned an area of brush about 20 to 30 feet square, according to Coates.
No injuries were reported.
