Young musicians put on a show at Thurston Middle School
More than 200 Top of the World and El Morro elementary students delighted a crowd gathered at Thurston Middle School on Monday night with an end-of-the-year concert.
Fourth- and fifth-grade band and strings students played songs they have practiced throughout the year, including “Boil Them Cabbage Down†and “Camptown Races,†under the guidance of Richard Hartford and Cyrus Hwang, directors of elementary band and strings, respectively, Hartford wrote in an email.
For the grand finale, students teamed with the nonprofit Laguna Concert Band for a rendition of “Star Warsâ€-themed music.
