Annual LCAD event raises more than $300,000 for scholarships
Laguna College of Art + Design held its 26th annual Collector’s Choice on Sept. 25 and raised $330,000 for student scholarships.
The college honored the McBeth Foundation, an organization that has supported the growth of the college, including the expansion of the Dennis and Leslie Power Library in 2011.
The event, held at the Montage Laguna Beach, welcomed more than 330 guests, including trustees, donors, alumni and faculty. It featured a live auction of juried paintings and sculptures.
Among the collection of featured artists were James Galindo, Darlene Campbell and Richard MacDonald, a master sculptor who gave LCAD President Jonathan Burke his work “Blind Faith” in honor of Burke’s 35 years with the school.
