The Lion King
The sun is setting over Pride Rock in Las Vegas.
Simba, Nala, Mufasa, Rafiki, Scar, Timon and the rest of the crowd from Disney’s “The Lion King” will take their final bows at Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino on Dec. 30. The show closes after 21/2 years playing to packed houses and garnering accolades, among them a “Best Show” from the staff of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Fitting for Las Vegas, the Mandalay Bay version of “Lion King” is staged on a grander scale than other productions. The stage is bigger, the cast more numerous, and even Pride Rock — which spirals up from the stage floor to its 20-foot glory — is larger.
Based the Academy Award-winning film, “The Lion King” has been seen by more than 60 million people worldwide.
Through Dec. 20, Mandalay Bay is offering a special hotel/show package: tickets to “Lion King” and two nights at the resort, starting at $200. Blackout dates are Nov. 23 to 26.
Don’t miss your chance to see the West Coast production of what Newsweek calls “a landmark event in entertainment.”
