Uber IPO: Should you buy stock Day 1 or wait?
Uber’s initial public offering is this week, with its stock hitting the public market Friday. Should you hurry to buy?
A review of big recent tech IPOs in California — including Lyft — suggests there’s often a pattern in the early days of trading. Investors privy to this pattern might have a better chance of buying low and selling high.
For instance, LinkedIn opened at $83 and closed that first day at $94.25. But Day 22 was the best time to buy.
