Max Lu was the director of academic partnerships and research at the Los Angeles Times. Lu has extensive experience in bridging the gap between industry and academia. His research in wearable computing has been published by IEEE and ACM journals and exhibited at Mobile World Congress. Prior to joining The Times, Lu managed a well-known research lab at the University of Toronto and was a technology fellow at the Center on Communication Leadership & Policy at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
