Readers React: Housing costs greater burden in LA than elsewhere
The affordability crunch in L.A. housing is nothing new. Your Business section frequently publishes articles about the lack of affordable housing as well as new construction for the well-paid worker. (“Housing costs are greater burden in L.A.,†June 26)
What is the city doing to assist the workers in the local economy? It gives tax breaks to the developers, companies that apparently see no financial benefit in building housing for low- and middle-class employees.
L.A. may not lose corporations, but it will lose the workers supporting them.
