Readers React: Panama Papers: Thank God for whistle-blowers and a free press

To the editor: Thank God for the free press. Hopefully our government will act on this exposure of how some of the world’s richest and most powerful hide their money using shell corporations set up in Panama by pardoning Edward Snowden and Chelsea Manning. (“‘My God. We’ve done this’: Meet the reporters who probed the Panama Papers,” April 5)
Whistle-blowers are true heroes and should be encouraged. Loyalty to fraud and corruption is an oxymoron. It dishonors the concept of loyalty.
It was joyously amusing to read the report on Russian President Vladimir Putin and some other bad guys, including the now ex-prime minister of Iceland Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson. American leaders and billionaires haven’t been mentioned yet, but of course there won’t be any exposure unless the free press does its work.
