A rapidly spreading wildfire destroyed one home and forced dozens of people to flee their houses near Myrtle Beach. High winds fanned the flames and blew walls of smoke over some of the busiest tourist spots in the state.
The blaze had burned almost five square miles, including part of a golf course, officials said, and was not under control. No one had been injured.
