The Latest: Pastor: Alleged gunman aimed at woman’s head

SELMA, Ala. — The latest on the shooting that left three people wounded at an Alabama church (all times local).
3 p.m.
A pastor who was wounded during a shooting inside an Alabama church said the gunman was aiming straight at his estranged girlfriend’s head when he opened fire during a worship service.
Bob Carswell said Monday the woman easily could have been killed if he and church members hadn’t wrestled the gun away from the shooter.
The 61-year-old pastor, who was hit in the leg, spoke outside a court hearing for James Junior Minter.
Minter is charged with three counts of attempted murder in the shooting Sunday of his 24-year-old girlfriend, his 1-month-old-son and Carswell at Oasis Tabernacle Church in Selma, Alabama. Police said Sunday that the 26-year-old Minter was likely upset over a recent breakup and visitation issues with his son.
A judge set Minter’s bond at $3 million on Monday.
