Four people were shot to death and a fifth was wounded after a man opened fire inside an Oklahoma home Saturday night, police said.

Tulsa authorities were still hunting Sunday for the man thought to be responsible. Officials suspect he was familiar with the home.

Police did not give a possible motive for the attack.

The five victims had gathered in a garage that had been converted to a bedroom, the Tulsa Police Department said in a statement. The garage was “cluttered with items that made the living area very small and compact,†police said.

The home had been the scene of several arrests for drug dealing in the last year, officials said, without elaborating.

A lone gunman went into the garage and shot the five victims at close range, Tulsa police said.

Two people were already dead by the time police arrived. The three others were taken to the hospital, where two more died.

A resident who has lived in the neighborhood for almost a year, Rodger Gibson, told the Tulsa World the home was usually busy with activity into the morning hours and that he tried to avoid the property because he “could tell it is trouble.â€

“I could not believe it,†Gibson told the World. “I couldn’t believe they shot that many people.â€

Saturday’s shooting was at least the second major shooting incident in Tulsa in as many months. Five people were wounded in a shooting at a Hmong New Year’s festival in October; two men from Thailand were arrested in connection with that attack.
