Third victim of Marysville-Pilchuck High School shooting dies
Another student critically wounded in a Washington state high school shooting has died, according to Providence Regional Medical Center doctors.
Shaylee Chuckulnaskit, 14, died at 4:44 p.m., Friday, officials said.
Chuckulnaskit is the third victim of the Marysville-Pilchuck High School shooting to die from her injuries.
“Our hearts are broken at the passing of our beautful daughter,†said a statement from her family, which was read during a brief news conference.
The gunman, identified as Jaylen Fryberg, a student at the school, committed suicide after opening fire on a table of people in the school cafeteria.
Zoe Galasso and Gia Soriano, both 14, were also killed.
Andrew Fryberg, 15, a cousin of the gunman, remains in critical condition. Nate Hatch, 14, remains in satisfactory condition.
The motive for the Oct. 24 shooting is unclear, but authorities said the shooter sent a message to the victims, inviting them to sit together at a table where the attack took place.
