Ohio man arrested after son, 2, is shot during family argument
A Cleveland man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of fatally shooting his 2-year-old son when he fired a gun at the home of the child’s mother during an argument, police said.
The unidentified boy by was standing on the landing of the home when he was stuck in the head with a bullet, police said.
The boy was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Police did not release the name of the suspect because has not been formally charged.
The man ditched the gun in a trash can and fled the scene on foot, police said.
The suspect is a convicted felon and should not have been in possession of a firearm, said Police Chief Calvin Williams during a news conference.
