Listen: Kamala Harris talks about her failed ‘palace revolt’
- Share via
Listen here as California Atty. Gen. Kamala Harris, a candidate for U.S. Senate, tells Times reporter Michael Finnegan about leading a failed “palace revolt” against a deputy to San Francisco Dist. Atty. Terence Hallinan in 2000.
Harris was a prosecutor in the district attorney’s office at the time. Three years later, she unseated Hallinan himself — "killed the king," as she puts it — after a rough campaign against her former boss. Hallinan could not be reached for comment.
