Reader Photo: Running in Travel Town

Three years ago, Roy DyBuncio took his very first photography class at Travel Town Museum in Griffith Park. On Monday, he returned to the transport museum to see how his work has progressed.

One thing he is constantly thinking about these days is how to work light in a scene. At the museum, he spotted a train that gave him the light he was looking for, but something was still missing. After waiting near the train for about 30 minutes, a girl ran into his frame and her mother quickly followed. That’s when he knew he had his perfect shot.

“The only thing missing was something to give it a little contrast and context,” he said. “It was the shot I was hoping for!”

DyBuncio used a Leica M Monochrom with a 35mm Summilux lens to make this image on March 9.
