Report of armed man at Chaminade High School prompts lockdown
A call from a parent reporting an armed man in a trench coat at Chaminade High School led to a lockdown of the West Hills campus Tuesday morning as Los Angeles police searched the area, authorities said.
The report involving the school in the 7500 block of Chaminade Avenue came in around 9:40 a.m., LAPD spokeswoman Diana Figueroa said.
The caller was not identified, and no other such calls were received, she said.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Topanga division officers reponded to the campus and were searching the area, Figueroa said.
