Hathaway fire near Banning is 52% contained

The Hathaway wildfire in the San Bernardino National Forest near Banning has burned 3,807 acres and is now 52% contained, officials said Sunday.
The fire began on June 9 in the northern portion of the Morongo Indian Reservation. The fire then burned north into the San Gorgonio Wilderness in the San Bernardino National Forest.
More than 1,000 firefighters are battling the blaze, officials said. There are 10 air tankers and 14 water-dropping helicopters assisting in the fight.
The fire is burning in a remote area that is very steep and difficult to access.
Only one structure has burned and nine firefighters have suffered minor injuries.
Temperatures are in the mid-80s with gusty southwest winds predicted this afternoon and evening. Humidity is at less than 15%.
Firefighters expect full containment by Tuesday.
