Woman dragged down street in Burbank, beaten with pliers
A West Hollywood woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after allegedly attacking a 19-year-old Burbank woman with a pair of pliers late Tuesday night, police said.
Just before midnight Wednesday, witnesses reported that two women were fighting outside near East Avenue and Third Street in Burbank, said police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.
Witnesses reportedly heard the suspect, 31-year-old Melania Melian, yell that she was going to kill the victim as she dragged her into the street, Ryburn said.
Melian allegedly hit the victim in the face and head with the pliers.
The victim was hospitalized for cuts to her head and face, Ryburn said, and has since been released.
Police said the attack was related to a “longstanding quarrel†between the pair, but no further details were available.
Melian was being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
