Police shoot, injure female suspect in Long Beach

A woman was injured Tuesday morning during an officer-involved shooting in Long Beach, authorities said.
The woman, who was described as a suspect, was shot by Signal Hill police during the incident and was taken to a local hospital, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which is investigating the incident. The condition of the woman was not immediately known.
Details surrounding the shooting, which occurred about 8:16 a.m. in the 1800 block of Cherry Avenue, were not immediately available.
No officers were hurt in the shooting, which is being investigated by the sheriff’s Homicide Bureau.
