Southern California’s rains expected to persist through this afternoon

A surprise Southern California weekend rainstorm will continue through Sunday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm dumped nearly two inches of rain in parts of Ventura County. Beverly Hills, Woodland Hills and other areas saw more than an inch. Long Beach saw less than a half an inch on Saturday. Zuma Beach got more than two inches of rain.

Snow levels dropped to about 7,000 feet.

Partly cloudy skies are in the forecast for Monday.
