Unlicensed teenage driver loses control, 2 passengers killed in crash
A 16-year-old unlicensed driver crashed into a wall, flipping his car before slamming into a pole late Thursday in Ontario. Two passengers in the car died in the crash.
“Judging by the debris, we believe he was driving at a high rate of speed,†Russell said.
Names and ages of the two female passengers killed have not yet been provided by police. The crash happened about 10:30 p.m. near South Grove Avenue and East Airport Drive, said Ontario Police Det. Bill Russell. The car jumped the center median, crashed into a wall, flipped, then hit a traffic pole.
The driver and a male passenger, neither of whom were immediately identified, were transported to a hospital with “non-life-threatening†injuries. Both are in stable condition, Russell said.
Authorities don’t know why the driver lost control of the vehicle. There was no indication alcohol was involved, though Russell said the incident remained under investigation.
