State Route 38 near Angelus Oaks will be closed until Saturday after a tanker truck flipped over Friday morning, spilling some of its fuel onto the roadway and into a nearby stream, the California Highway Patrol said.

The tanker truck contained about 10,000 gallons of fuel. It flipped over about 9:35 a.m. north of Angelus Oaks, in San Bernardino County, according to Caltrans officials.

A 5-mile stretch of State Route 38 from Angelus Oaks to Lake Williams will be closed until at least Saturday and potentially longer. The cleanup may take some time because of the potential environmental threat, CHP and Caltrans officials said.
