Sorry, L.A. Marathon runners: Weekend heat will near 90s before cool-off next week
L.A. Marathon runners looking for respite from the heat will be disappointed this weekend as temperatures are expected to reach nearly 90 degrees before dropping again next week.
After enduring a string of heat records early this week, Los Angeles isn’t expected to experience any more in the coming days, forecasters said. On Friday, temperatures will hover around 80.
The weather will cool down slightly on Saturday, dropping about five degrees, but a high pressure system is expected to kick temperatures back up Sunday, forecasters said.
The slightly cooler weather is still higher than average temperatures for this time of year, said Stuart Seto, weather specialist with the National Weather Service.
“The normal temperature is about 68,†Seto said.
The warming trend should flatten by the middle of next week. A chance of rain moves into the region Wednesday through at least Thursday.
“We’ll get a big cool-off too because of a low pressure system,†Seto said.
Forecasters said temperatures are expected to drop into the low 70s by Thursday.
